GroupsMore Offer: Fir Wellness Sarawakian Deep Tissue Massage

Yes, by now I admit I am a spa junkie! And I'm addicted to GroupsMore spa offers :)

I'd say this deep tissue massage is unlike any other massage I've been to, it's quite painful as the massuse put extra pressure at some parts of my body for example my lower back shoulder and neck. But somehow, today I feel refreshed and I no longer feel the pain at my shoulder (yes, I've been having shoulder pains lately and now it's gone!).

"It feels good and it is beneficial to your health. When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue. A deep-tissue massage helps loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly. Because many toxins are released, it's important to drink plenty of water after a deep-tissue session to help eliminate these toxins from the body." - Embodyforyou.com

The GroupsMore voucher is this one, and it was only RM35!
I went there I asked for an upgrade to a full body massage and the additional amount that I had to pay was RM40+RM2.40 (6% service tax). So the total amount I paid for Infrared Sauna+60 minutes Sarawakian Deep Tissue Massage was RM77.40 which is still cheaper from the normal price of RM115. (RM35 for Infrared Sauna and RM80 for Sarawakian Deep Tissue Massage)

When I got there for my 12pm appointment, I was directed to the sauna room immediately for a 30 mins session. I'd say I sweat a lot, I felt like I was drowning in my own sweat, yuck, but that's the truth, thank god i have my iPod with me to buy time and yes, you can bring in your handphone and iPod into the sauna. After the session I was directed to the massage room which is on the other side of the room. I wasn't allowed to shower after the sauna as the lady said that the sauna opens up the pores so that it would be easier for my body to absorbed the oil. The Sarawakian Deep Tissue massage as I've said earlier was painful at certain parts but also good for your health and unknots the knots. And honestly, till now, I still don't know what knots, muscles have knots? What I do know is that my body feels really good and no issue of sakit bahu la, sakit kaki la what so ever.

What I like about the place is the ambiance, the infrared sauna, the smell of coconut oil and the massage where the massuse started the massage by wiping my feet with hot towel which feels soooo damn good!

What I feel they can improve is: Be more friendly and have communication skills.

One example, when I got there I asked:

Y: "What kind of massage would it be?"
Lady: "A deep tissue massage"
Y: "What are the benefits of this massage?"
Lady: "A lot"
Y: "Yeah but what does it do to my body?"
Lady: "Make you feel good and healthy".

Informative much?

Another awkward moment was when the lady took me from sauna room to the massage room and just leave me there without any explanation as to what I should do. Hello? Didn't anybody see the first timer label on my head? Anyways, I stood there until the lady came back asking "Are you ready?", um no, I didn't know what to do. But all went well eventually as I changed afterwards for my massage, oh, and there were no disposable panties, mind you.

For what it's worth, the overall experience was great but there's a lot to improve in terms of customer service. You can visit Fir Wellness website here.
